This seems to be some kind of trolling lure, not really sure. The through wire can be compressed to change the belly hook.Seems to be compressed stirafoam.

It's one of Bob Ponds last creations. I have a few of them. He was working on them around the time he sold the business to Metcalf. i'll dig out one and get the name an all off it for you.It was in a different package from the standard Atom lure packs. I have got some of the few he actually had in the Atom pack. He was gonna hold onto this style as a play around business after he sold Atom lures. It was along with his dinner bell lures.Ron

Oh also he had some similar that had a lead head with replacable hair on them too.

Can you tell me about when these were made.

stripermaineiac 12-14-2011 04:45 PM

I've been diggin around tryin to find the packaged one. have found a box of the proto types. They are rigged as the following-poppers with sliding hook on belly, swimmers like yours, with a lead head as a jig it,with a treble and a bait hook on the tail and also in Stripers Unlimited packaging as a bait rig to cast a snelled bait off the tail that has no wire just mono through the body. I'll keep looking as I've been doing some major organizing work to make more room in the shops LOL.

The ist ones were with a lead head in the early 80's.
