national murder rate highest in 25 years

another feather in Pudding Brain’s cap. let’s be soft on crime, teach everyone to despise those with whom we disagree, mock religion and the traditional family, no downside, right?

We’re in Jimmy Carter territory now.

I know Jim Americans have never murdered each other before

The U.S. murder rate rose 30% between 2019 and 2020 – the largest single-year increase in more than a century,

Don’t recall you being concerned it was Trumps fault

highest it's been in 25 Years. So we have been here before

When are you going to tell us what mythical policy Biden passed to create this increase

Another conservatives myth the US isn’t tough on Crime

Criminals do not factor in punishment when the commit crimes .. that’s another myth created by conservatives

Current prison population in the US

1.8 million people

China 1,710,000

Weak on Crime ok

yes, that’s exactly what i said, that there were never any murders until Biden came along. You got me!

we know what decreases crime, and we know what increases crime, because rational people can look at results.

Rudy Giuliani is a clown now. When he was mayor of NY, he brought about massive decreases in violent crime. Things like stop and frisk work. You may not like that it works, but it works.z

the liberal approach ( attack the nuclear family, attack faith, coddle
criminals, attack police, decriminalize drugs, let homeless create huge camps) well, now we know the effects of those things. mean, anyone who had commen sense could have predicted the impact of that stupidity, but we don’t have to guess anymore. we can look at the results, and we knows. They suck . They are stupid and they suck.

Living in CT, i can tell you that liberals aren’t persuaded by results. they never admit tax and spend just doesn’t work, and they do it again the next year.

oh, on Trump, i’ve said here many times that i hated his criminal
justice reform. drug dealing isn’t a non-violent crime.

The president doesn’t control the murder rate obviously. but biden supports the liberal insanity that is causing the spike.

but biden supports the liberal insanity that is causing the spike.

So Trumps criminal reform bill caused

The year-over-year increase in the U.S. murder rate in 2020 was the largest since at least 1905 – and possibly ever,

Most states saw their murder rates go up between 2019 and 2020. At least eight states saw their murder rates rise by 40% or more last year, with the largest percentage increases in Montana (+84%), South Dakota (+81%), Delaware (+62%) and Kentucky (+61%), according to the CDC.

But let’s only focus on cities with Dem mayors. No bias in that

Firearms were involved in 77% of murders for which data was available in 2020, up from 73% in 2019,

But we don’t have a gun issue in the US

It is not yet clear why murders rose dramatically in 2020. Experts have pointed to a variety of potential causes, including the economic and societal changes brought on by the coronavirus pandemic and changes in police-community relations after the murder of George Floyd But the exact reasons remain unclear.

Unclear imagine that

just what is causing the spike?

Anytime you hear a “rise in crime” or “spike in shootings,” remember: whatever the claim, it's happening despite investing the most on policing in the history of the world. A brutal indictment of the efficacy of policing. Yet police are using their pathetic failures to demand more?

one guy says it’s unclear why crime is spiking. You grab onto that with both hands, because it serves your agenda.

the polls suggest america disagrees with you. but you don’t believe any of the polls either. Good for you.

Jim what’s stopping conservatives from becoming Academics ?

About 76 percent of public school teachers were female and 24 percent were male

Women More Likely to Be Democrats, Regardless of Age

It’s a liberal profession it’s not rocket science. And what’s so nefarious about it You speak
As it a grand conspiracy, but then again that’s what conservatives want you to believe …. Just watch that Fox show and it’s a Christian school administrator it’s in your wheel house

Hegseth uncovers the secrets of the Left's educational agenda

And how our children can be taught to become virtuous citizens

The progressives removed all of that; most importantly, God, from the classroom. And they use some really insidious tactics to do it."

Religion and conspiracy. A perfect Fox show

They don't get hired. That's what's stopping them. This might be news to you, but a conservative can't just show up on a college campus and declare himself a professor and start teaching. You have to get hired first. They don't hire conservatives.

"It’s a liberal profession it’s not rocket science. And what’s so nefarious about it"

What's nefarious, is that kids aren't educated, they're indoctrinated. They aren't taught how to think, they are taught what to think. What's nefarious about it, is that college students go berserk when a conservative speaker is invited to give a simple talk on campus. Instead of engaging the conservative speaker like a normal person, the college kids can't deal with it, they need a safe space to curl up into a ball and suck their thumbs. What's nefarious about it, is that conservative speakers are routinely mobbed off stage, rather than being given a chance to speak. It turns college kids into adults like you, who are physically incapable of processing anything that doesn't support the liberal narrative. What's nefarious about it, is that conservative students cannot possibly feel comfortable expressing their views in class, when their teacher says their views are as evil as Hitler.

I taught in public school Wayne, and was a student at three different colleges. I saw it.

I took a sociology class at UCONN, taught by a marxist female who hated everybody to the right of Bernie Sanders. She made us read a autobiography by convicted cop killer Abu Mumia Jamal, the whole autobiography was whiny rant about how the cops framed him. We had one courageous student in th eclass, who said to the teacher "you know, the widow of the cop he killed, also wrote a book, maybe we could read that book too, to get both sides of the event."

The teacher went berserk at the suggestion.

Again, that was one example, and one observation doesn't mean anything. But that stuff happens every single day, on every single campus.

Here's a study that suggests that democrats professors outnumber republican professors nine to one. 9 to 1. That's not an accident.

Liberals want diversity of everything, except of ideas.

Fox News is running a whole series stoking outrage about the left’s supposed “indoctrination” of kids, while at the same airing advertisements for children’s books to teach your kids to hate socialism before they even know what it is.

Wow you really are drunk on the narrative they feed you. So the entire country’s education system is a giant liberal cult brainwashing the children. I guess these conservatives applying for these jobs aren’t that smart, or they would realize there are laws against discrimination of all kinds. Better spread the word Jim, all conservative families moving forward better home school, or run the risk of little Johnny or Nancy growing up liberal,?

"So the entire country’s education system is a giant liberal cult brainwashing the children."

Pretty sure I didn't say that, but easier for you to respond to nonsensical gibberish that I never said, than it is for you to respond to what I actually said.

GS, when guest speakers at colleges are mobbed off the stage, how often are they liberal speakers who are hounded off the stage by conservative students? And how often are the conservative speakers hounded off the stage by liberal students?

That indoctrnation clearly worked on you, as you're one of the liberal always good, conservative always bad cultists.

"I guess these conservatives applying for these jobs aren’t that smart, or they would realize there are laws against discrimination of all kinds."

Please show us the law, which says it's illegal to discriminate against someone, based on their political ideology? How many conservatives host their own shows at CNN or MSNBC?

I was having a conversation with someone last night who is in education, talking about friends they have that are in doctoral programs moving through the system, getting papers published, how the entire system, despite what is claimed, is a complete racket, no diversity of thought, you either go along of you don't advance or life is made difficult for you...it's all ass kissing and towing the leftist line....which is what it is in many other endeavors but academia purports to be this open-minded, diverse culture of thought and opinion...it's as closed minded and narrowly authoritarian as anything else

college teaching is a HUGE racket. those folks make really good
money, and it’s usually a very very cushy assignment, most can’t conceive of working 2,000 hours in a year.

i played some tennis a few times with the chairman of the sociology department at wesleyan university in CT ( i was careful not to bring up politics, as i’d have zero in common with him, and he was a nice guy).

He told me that he can’t track his hours in a way that averages out to 30 hours a week. even adding in office hours, preparing lesson plans, teaching, grading papers, department meetings,he can’t get it to 30 hours a week. and that’s when school is in session, which is approximately 34 weeks each year. a big big reason why college costs so much.
