rust is the least of your problems ,,wait until you start dropping fish .. not all .,, just the good ones .. Mustad = fish droppers

switch them up or sharpen them. Once you sharpen them hit them with a bit of hard as hull

Just about any hook will rust though.

I think once rust begins setting in the hooks are on their way out and I wouldn't trust them implicitly. There have been times I've used hooks which had rusted a little, and I couldn't shake the feeling that if I hooked something good, they'd be weakened and break, so in a way it ruined my peace of mind:)

I always dry my lures off with a rag, and spray them with WD-40 to protect against rusting which seems to work quite well.

DaveSimpson, THAT might have been my problem. I fished them put them in my bag an LEFT them in the truck till the next trip out. I know they sat there heating up in the truck. Ill give some outher a try an WIP 'EM DOWN after fishin an see if that help:eek:
GOOD LUCK GOOD PLUGGIN:cheers:

To me the biggest problem with rust is what the rust does during a subcutaneous invasion of one of your fingers. That should be more of a concern. Its bad enough when the hook you just dislodged from a fish pierces your skin with the fishes bacteria, but when the hook is rusty the problem is magnefied.
