Did you read past the headline?

"However, employers paid for the compensation increase by holding benefits in check"

and did you read past the first statistic you could
twist to your ends? combining the wage and benefit effects, total labor costs to employers increased by 2.6%. the benefit effect didn’t eradicate the whole wage increase.

and a good jobs report too. how about that?
