Newbie getting set up!

Hi! My name is Faye!

I'm really new to fishing and am seeking to actually get into it after some really disappointing childhood instances where nobody in my family really had any interest in it, leaving it to sort of dwindle away as an interest. Now, that same person is in her 20's and has a bit more energy to try figuring things out.

I don't have tons in the way of gear or tackle. I just picked up a Ugly Stik GX2 (Medium) and some line and split-shot weights. I have a few spoons, some "spinner spoons" and some 1/0 worm hooks and a pack of roboworms! We'll see if I can't find some good fishing spots and eventually make some catches to show you all!

I'm in California in the vague Sacramento Valley area, specifically Roseville! It's a good ways to the nearest lake or any rivers. Only just now am I starting to learn to drive, so I've been walking around to get to fishing spots, so expect updates to be a tad slow! I just wanna start by catching maybe bass/sunfish/bluegills and stuff.

But yeah! Consider this a friendly introduction post, maybe! It's nice to be here.
