Damn....I was wondering how you were making out. Excellent...your over the hump for sure. As for me, I don't even think about it anymore.
1 month, 17 days. Nov 1st will be 2 months. There's no going back anymore....I have a physical tomorrow (just my yearly check up for insurance purposes). I expect nothing but good stuff from my Doc.

Guppy 10-18-2015 03:23 PM

Ha....My physical is actually next Monday. And I DO get a rebate. There are several things that they give me $$ back for....Physical=$100, Cholesterol Blood Work = $200, Taking a health questionaire=$100.
So, at least they make it worth it!!

bart 10-19-2015 09:34 AM

Thank you both! I have no excuse to ever go back. This past month had it's ups and downs (life) and I dealt with it without having a smoke. I crushed butts when I fished before and I;ve been fishing harder than ever, so that's been HUGE to see I don't need to take a butt break every 15 min during a slow bite.

Good job, Mugz! You definitely inspired me. Well done.

Thanks for your words of encouragement as well, Guppy.

Excellent work guys keep it up!

Quit 2 months ago after smoking for 10 years. More $ in my wallet and I feel great when walking long distances. When I was wetsuiting my chest felt like it was going to explode so it was either give up fishing or smoking and it wasn't a hard choice.

I've always wondered actually how much money I have not spent on smokes in the last 13.5 yrs.How much gear, how many dinners out with Jane or trips possible because I had the finances?

I'm no mathematician so this may take a while but I'm going to get a good estimate on what I've not spent.I'll post back later.

Day four.... I am not even concerned with money, savings or anything.... Just want to kill something. Had four. Out now. Not buying. Stupid dreams wake me around 2am wearing nicotine patch. Take it off before falling asleep. I'm in the deep suck stage......

You can do it !!!!

I had issues with the patch so I used the Nicotine lozenge. Get a 2MG or 4MG lozenge, break it in half, get more miles ;)

Crapmart pharmacy has the 108 counts for about $33 a box - best value out there.

If I did it (took me a while) you can do it too

thefishingfreak 09-23-2016 08:34 PM

Wellbutrin is a mind altering medication it can and does take the need to kill #^&#^&#^&#^& moods away. But that needs to be started in advance before you quit. It will generally help with your piss poor attitude while you are quitting.

Anyhoo I did bags upon bags of dumdum lollipops and a #64 rubber band around my wrist for a quick painful snap When I was starting to get inside my head.
The dreams last for a while. It took me about 6 months to stabilize.
8 years in now and never felt, or been, better.
Keep it up Ross. It's well worth it and when you kick this nasty habit you'll feel invincible

Quit a two pack a day habit cold turkey with will power back in 1999 at the stroke of midnight after polishing off pack number three. Tried an occasional cigar in 2005 but decided those occasional cigars were becoming more and more dally, so gave them up too four years back.
