I use the Scotty Rod holder w/ a flush mount kit....works fine for me. Reasonably priced

Rod Leash I use is the Hobie rod leash...I like it because it "Spirals" out of the way and it has a quick release clip so I can detach it if the need arises while fighting a fish

I love scotty rod holders, they have a whole new line out called the "gear head' with a track mounting system that looks really cool, so you can switch things up by just taking them off the track if needed.

rod leashes I like a simple bungee cord that doesn't have a clip or anything that attaches to the rod (just a simple velcro loop or something instead). Clips can get in the way when you are trying to get it in and out of the rod holder.

I like Austin Canoe and Kayak and Hook 1 for online stores, there are others out there too, just google it!

I use a string about 4' long. Easy peezy!
