Bucktails

Can anyone provide instructions of how to tie-up your own bucktail hooks.
As always thanks.:(

That's not hard...You can use a cheap fly tying vice to hold the jig (make sure it can hold your hook size) and simply hold some buck tail to the tail end of the jig, wrap with fly tying thread, trim to look pretty and put a coat of epoxy or threat cement on the threads....that is all there is too it.
I don't think there is a lot of science to this.

I did a how to on the lure building forum. It gives you what to watch for etc and its takes you step by step. Just do a search for it, it should pop up.

you need vise grip and a clamp to hold it to a surface they work great cuz some ot the market vises don't hold the weight well unless you want to spend $$$$ 4 one.
I use flat waxed thread , I'm self taught , set your jig up put a couple of wraps aroud it then start adding hair don't use alot at a time work the hair around the jig to fill it up some flash added is cool to finish it off take some Dacron 8" piece fold in half lay it on wraps then wrap 6 or 10 times and cut thread put through end loop and pull under. when done use Sally Hanson hard as nails clear polish to finish wrap.
also Jigman helped me out when I started
