Another Kayak Fishing Newbie

Cheers,

Phil M. here from Franklin, MA saying hello. I recently picked up a slightly used SOT (Wilderness Tarpon 160) rigged for fishing and I'm just getting used to it. I've been fishing in Narragansett, RI (Harbor Refuge, Point Judith Pond, Sachuest Point in Newport and off Barn Island near Napatree Point/Stonington area). I'm looking for some fishing pals to connect with to learn tips and tricks - especially around the Newport/Jamestown area and near Stonington, CT. If anyone is ok with having a relative paddling novice hanging around, please give me a shout. Thanks,

Re:

Ones you get the hang of launching the kayak into the surf you can start useing more expensive fishing tackle.
2 x Rod tie downs to ensure that you dont loose the rods.
1 x Water proof bag for cellphone or radio
1 x Medical kit
1 x Sharp knife
1 x Anchor and rope
1 x Small gaff to hook the fish
Aviod putting out the anchor at sea if you dont know what you are doing. Most kayak anglers use the trawling method at sea.
