He received the respect from people who appreciate good music and musicians and that seems to be what mattered to him. Here's a couple of other nice tunes.

At woodstock, no one else was ready to go non stage so they told him
to keep playing. He was improvising and that was the first time that he played that song 'freedom". That's cool. |
yeah, he belted it out and realizing it was
