Best Loud Guitarist's

Narrow it down to loud, electric, fusion, blues, etc style. The kind of player that can play but doesn't play a lot of quiet tunes. You know the kind
This gentleman is fantastic. I can't believe he was NSYNC's and Justin Timberlakes guitarist

Is "Loud" a good thing ???

ProfessorM 12-07-2008 03:43 PM

Yes if they have talent. If the don't no it is just loud noise. You know what I mean guys that prefer to play with volume. Part of their style, technique. Not everyone is a fan. Maybe I was to vague.

Ok
For me I like guys who play with substance over loud or speed !
I'll take Dave Gilmour or Carlos Santana or Larry Carlton and their soulful playing over guys like Van Halen who crams 1000 notes in 1 bar (but with no tone or feeling) and any guy who just plays loud !
Same goes with drummers for me (the instrument I know MUCH more about)

ProfessorM 12-07-2008 04:44 PM

I agree with you Ron. I too much prefer substance, but every once in a while I like some volume and speed.

Raider Ronnie 12-07-2008 04:48 PM

Ok then.
Randy Rhodes with Ozzy

ProfessorM 12-07-2008 04:55 PM

That will work. I am not saying they can't play nice and quiet with lots of substance just that they are probably known more for their louder side.

Jimmi Page was no slouch in the volume department -

This is a little obscure, but it's Led Zep covering Blondie's 'Call Me' -

This is a great Hammett riff. Be warned - there is some colorful language at the beginning.
