Toe kick for kitchen cabinets
Installed what came with them years ago and after a while it fell apart. Put some of the rubber adhesive roll product on it and it looked like crap. Replaced with the white toe kick they sell at Home Depot and after having the floor stripped and waxed a few times that is falling apart.
What's a decent solution? It's likely we're going to replace the cabinets in a few years so I'm looking for something to hold us over. Thanks... |
White cabinets? I would put in some 1/2" MDF paint it it will look ok and won't break the bank particularly if your going to replace the cabinets in a few years

Should be able to get 1/4" wood, cut to size, nail and paint?

Yes, I think it's MDF...why they would use that for a kitchen floor boundary is beyond me.
Didn't know if there was another option besides just painting wood. The cabinets aren't anything fancy, just that white coated stuff. New ones will be real wood. |
get a pc of white Azek and be done with it . It doesn't have to be 1/4 "

they use it because it's cheap and that is how they make a profit by selling it competitively
you can use 1/4" melamine or a white vinyl 1/4", basically it's on luan plywood, don't get mdf core. 1/4" luan can be painted also good luck |
Thanks, project for the weekend.
