Thought about it many times this year included. Can’t do it with the chaos at work but it would be great.

No way unless the trend changes.

its a big gamble. the numbers of fish are wayyy down- probably not worth the effort. the late run of fish chasing herring down the coast is likely a thing of the past

Dennis, I believe the days of the late big fish are just in our memories now. I was just wondering if anyone was up for it but it really is kind of stupid of me given the results I am hearing of late.

We'll used to catch large at plum island (Mass)well into November. .we used to call it a season when we caught more codfish than bass on plugs wire lined in the mouth of the river...like you said a distant memory. ..I haven't seen a large fish since the second week of September. .the ocean conditions and water clarity played a role,but weather conditions were not the only factor.

How many times did you guys con me into fishing Block Island late in the season? Just Oakley dropping all my fish in the wash and freezing our asses off. Thank god for lasagne and bourbon.

Great memories Jeff. Some of the most memorable fishing trips I even had.

I suspect that the small push of huge fish that potentially move through Block after thanksgiving is a decades old pattern that rarely ever happens anymore... but hey... Never know unless you're there with a line in the water! if I had the free time and less BS to do daily, I would take a shot

Yes. IF I lived out there you can bet your ass I'd be casting every evening for a few hours seeing if I could intercept something nice. But I wouldn't plan a special trip out there during Thanksgiving UNLESS I had some active intell.

We'll if it happened again there is a good chance I'd be all by my lonesome. I think last November I ran into two other fishermen for an entire week of casting.

I'll be out there with the family for most of the week. At least I know the clams will be there.

I have a guy where I stay who trades me clams for my linguine in exchange for striper fillets.
Last few years it's been hard to provide my end of the deal.

Dennis, I'm going up on the 20th thru 26th. I did well on clams there last month, though all quohogs.

Take a ride out next Sunday Mike . I will be there with my family and daughters upcoming inlaws . Will be orb hunting all over the island .

Who ever dreamed up that orb project was a genius 😆

DZ I drive a 2006 blue tacoma . Might be out on a charter Sunday , Depending on conditions . We will be leaving on the last ferry 1730 on the 4th . Hope you have a good week out there .

I'll be arriving at 9am or so on the 4th. I drive a bluish Subaru Forester with rod racks. Look up Hank Hewitt at Block Island Fishworks for a report if you want to wet a line in the surf. He also does boat charters.
