Do you know if the blank is 9 years old, or if he had it a while before you got it? Is it 8'10" or 9'6"? Anything written on the blank? SW?

8'-10" and blank was bought new at time of wrap.

Blank is blank - no markings

Wish I was closer to check this rod out.... I have every reason to believe that this is the rod that many sought as the best all around light/medium plugging, eeling rod. Should be able to throw 3oz and has a sweet spot at 2. I got my blank, a Batson Rainshadow 1088 SW, from Capesams and if I could only have one rod, this would be it. If this rod matches up performance wise, I would not hesitate to add it, even as a back up. Someone should check it out....

I have one exactly like this.. wrapped by fishaholic as well. awesome all around surf rod. 2 is in fact the sweet spot but throws large eels just fine too..
