Char Broil Grille

Purchased a 4 burner Advantage from Home Depot about 1.5 years back and we grille marinated turkey and chicken alot, so it was time to pull the racks, tubes and vac out the pan to eliminate flame up. Put it back together and the tube with the igniter lights, but doesn't travel down the tube, the other three work fine. No manifold access, so no fing way to even see what might be happening. Short of getting out a saws all or grinder to cut an access panel, grille with one tube out has become a big pain in the butt. Sent the manufacturer an email, hoping to get a credit towards a replacement, but who knows what kind of support I'm going to get for a $300 grille.

Paid a grand for my Weber 12 yrs ago, still running like a champ....
Cabinet little rusty but not a problem....

The tube is a ribbon burner and one of the openings is obstructed. This prevents the flame from igniting down the row of openings on the burner. If you can get into the grill under that plate with a dental pic,you should easily be able to open up the clogged hole.

Same here. I actually busted the &*&^ out of it two years ago moving it with the tractor bucket. Got all new parts from Weber at a discount and it works fine.

Peg grilles as much as I do, and even though I love cooking on Charcoal, the convenience and her not wanting to deal with the other means its gas for us.

15 or so years ago I found a KitchenAid grill at Homegoods for 50% off which was still a thousand bucks. Aside from replacing the burners once it's been a champ and looks like it could survive WW3. Charcoal is great but I need the convenience of instant on.

My habits don’t bow to instant on. This is one of life’s pleasures that is worth waiting the extra 10 minutes. I bought the Costco version of an egg and it convinced me long ago. It is less fuss than you think.

My grill can put out amazing even high heat, better than any I've ever cooked on...you just don't get the smoke. I have contemplated an egg but never pulled the trigger.

Pain in the butt to pull it apart, but it’s back to 100% and ready to go, they certainly don’t make it easy access to get to the manifold.

I have a Weber smoky mountain charcoal smoker also. All charcoal in my back yard. Never those kingsford briquettes either,I buy my charcoal at Sid Wainer and it burns very clean. I put a plug-in type of heater to get the coals started which takes 5-10 minutes to get them ready to cook. Those eggs get incredibly hot for steaks or even pizza.

I always grill my pizza. Have to revisit the egg when I’m in the right place. Sid Wainer is awesome.

Good persistence on your part to fix the issue.Char-broil builds their grills the way they do so when things go south you simply buy another.I do an incredible amount if grilling/smoking and have found over the years that C-B anything is just plain cheap junk.

For the average back-yarder you can't beat a Weber anything.By far the best grill they make is the Weber Q,its to bad they don't make one bigger than the 3200.Qs are friggin tanks.

Ditto on the charcoal. Got a nice copper Weber 22 premium for 149.99 and also never looked back. Very versatile, I use it a lot for indirect roasting of all types of meat and flavor is fantastic.

I was at Lowes checking out the Black Acorn eggs A guy was buying one, and he told me that he has a big Green egg and the Acorn cooks just as well or better for 1/5th the price. He was buying a 2nd because he was having a huge BBQ
