Uncle Sam-

wants to live in your house and decide how you should spend your money.

While I'm a looong, loong way from the $250,000 and over that Obama wants to tax,
his plan takes away from the incentive to work hard.

Why start a business, work your tail off or take a promotion so the government can sit at your kitchen table
and tell you what to do with your money?

Imho, it's nothing more or less than socialism and redistribution of wealth.

I want my country back.

I've never understood this logic.

We already have a progressive tax system that practices redistribution of wealth. Without it one could argue we wouldn't have a middle class.

Sure, you might be against the rate at which the wealth redistribution is skewed, but to say you're against it entirely must mean the system we have today is also idiologically impure.

Money is only part of the reason people want to be wealthy - you're leaving out being able to bully people, coercing women into having sex with you, and being above the law.

Money for nothing and your chicks for free!!!

Warren Buffett who has way more money than you disagrees with you.

You musta hacked into my Swiss Bank account. :D

If Warren Buffet wants to live under a socialistic society God Bless him, that's his choice.

With his kind of money he could do some great things for our country like the Rockefeller's and DuPont's
and shouldn't need a bunch of politicians and bureaucrats to tell him what's best.

Buffet aside, too many people looking to the "sugar daddy" government to take care of them ,imho.

I would chose to live and work in a free market economy with a flat tax paid by everyone who works.
That, imo would be a fair tax. Something like over 60, 000 pages of tax codes is a little over the top.

I'd like to spend the hard working money i earned and saved, taking care of my family first and spending it my way , thank you. :)

People don't realize that tax rates are near historic lows - esp. on upper incomes .

RIJIMMY 10-13-2008 08:04 AM

The concept most people dont factor in the the "other" taxes. For example, if you're wealthy, most likely you have an expensive car. You pay property tax on that car based on its value. Does a Mercedes cost a town more than a Hundai?
No, but the wealthy pay more, same goes for houses, boats, etc.
I agree with the flat tax.

You have stated this several times and I don't buy it. Explain what you mean "Without it one could argue we wouldn't have a middle class."
I must be a dummy, I don't get it.

And I'm for a national sales tax or a flat rate. The system we have now, which is about to get worse, is unfair and unconstitutional as far as I can see.

I believe the upper 4% now pay a higher percentage of the tax burden then they did under the Clinton years.

I agree with the flat tax.

No, the wealthy don't pay anything in the US on their boats if they're smart.

Go down to Newport Shipyard and count the number of boats over 50 feet that are US flagged.
Almost all of them are US owned though. :hihi:
