Really upset Trump, he spent the entire weekend in deep thought and remorse.....NOT. No he spent the weekend beating up on a dead american hero, because he picked up on something Fox said and then went on a rant about SNL, suggesting they are doing something illegal and they should be investigated. Oh I know if he had his way, SNL and all news organizations (that don't kiss his arse like FOX) would be illegal; hmmmmm wonder where else in history something like that was implemented.

Was nice to see the NZ Prime Minister lead effectively after a national tradegy. Trump looks like he’s trying to prime a civil war. I can’t find a reasonable explanation for his rhetoric.

Seriously snowflake, don’t try to make EVERYTHING about Trump. F’ in disgrace that these folks were murdered at a place of worship and you just have to link it to Trump. You should charge him rent for the space he is taking up in your head. Start a new thread next time you soil your diaper.

His rhetoric as it pertains to this tragedy was one of remorse. Is that not appropriate Jeff? Or should he just talk about the Christchurch massacre exclusively without taking care of problems at home such as the opiate crisis he inherited.

NZ moves to ban semiautomatic weapons. Don’t they know that thoughts and prayers are standard procedure ?

You must be confused, on this political board for the past two years everything has been about a Trump and his administration and if you aren’t discussed by the lack of empathy shown by him at several similar tragedies over the course of this administration, then your blinders are firmly attached to your head. Trust me throwing petty small minded insults my way doesn’t do anything other then prove to me your character, I will not get into a juvenile name calling exchange with you.

My dad flew F4U’s off carriers for the marines and was highly decorated during the Korean War and lost several of his friends in the war, so the treatment Trump has shown during and after McCain’s life really makes me discussed. To you I suppose 80 tweets over the weekend, a fair number of them aimed at McCain and by association his family, is very presidential. To me it is extremely cowardly and disgusting. So yes this past weekend for me anyway, it just showed me a new low for this clown.

White supremacy propaganda and activism is up 182% since he took office, you I’m sure see that as just a pure coincidence, I see it as evidence that his rhetoric and actions have empowered them, but let’s keep on winning; MAG(white)A. Mexicans are invaders murderers and rapists, wanted to ban all Muslims, he hates all those sh*thole counties; we need to get more immigrants from those lilly white countries he like so much.

Two local examples on the news last night, the defacing of the WWII memorial and Jewish headstones with natzi symbols along with MAGA.

I thank your Dad for his bravery. I am sure he Was a loyal marine who supported his country. This has nothing to do with the NZ tragedy however. White, black,Muslim or Christian this is not about Trump regardless of how you would like to phrase it. I am sure your Dad would have the clarity to understand this. I understand Trump is thin skinned and petty but that shoe apparently fits you too. Sorry if you are offended by the diaper comment but it seemed appropriate given the whining. If you can point out one tragedy at home where he showed a lack of empathy that may bolster your case but I can’t think of one.

Well his lack of empathy started decades ago, when he bragged about his building being the biggest in Manhattan now that the twin towers fell. Classic Trump moment making fun of a disabled journalist, or calling a women too ugly for him to assault, or stating African American women have low IQ’s. His behavior toward the widow of Army Sgt. La David Johns was another perfect example. How about when he initially refused to lower the flag to half mast after the passing of John McCain and this past weekend’s attack is one only a coward would make. While Bounty Company might have liked him throwing rolls of paper towels after the hurricane, it showed again his complete lack of empathy. Oh and how can we forget his classic line, that I’m sure there are good people on both sides. Shinning moment for him, showing unbelievable empathy (NOT) for the thousands in California who lost everything, instead focusing on his opinion mismanagement of the forests caused the fire, someone with empathy holds those opinions to much much later. Christ, where aren’t there examples of his complete lack of empathy, the list is a long one for sure.

Your insults don’t bother me in the least, just exactly what I’ve come to expect from the hard core MAGA hat wearing crowd, if it makes you feel better to insult and bully people, then you are a reflection of what sits in the oval office. While I disagree with yours and others opinion of Trump, I refuse to get down to your level and start throwing insults.

The Dad Fisherman 03-19-2019 11:13 AM

A lot of empathy really shines through in this thread.

Even WDSMO tempered his hate for Trump when he started this thread, chose to focus on the incident.

Another proud moment

FFS, tens of millions of people voted for Trump, any chance you can refrain from holding them all accountable for what Dangles says?

Are YOU responsible for the sniper who killed the cops in Dallas, or for the shooter who targeted Republicans at the softball game, or for a million other bad things that liberals have done? Are you responsible for the anti-Semitism from Omar, or for the nonsensical babble from Cortez?

No, you're not.

There are tens of millions of liberals, and tens of millions of conservatives. Neither group has a monopoly on character, neither side has a monopoly on moral lapses.

Trump is unique, no question, and he is to be held accountable for his frequent disgusting behavior. But some of you are completely obsessed. We all concede, I think, that he's not an ethical person. So how about convincing me that his policies aren't helping the country?

As to his making fun of the reporter. There is video evidence, actual video evidence, of Trump using the same physical gestures to make fun of someone else who was criticizing him, who wasn't disabled. So maybe, as Trump said, it's just an immature, baby-like response he has, to everyone who disagrees with him. I wouldn't put it past him to make fun of a disabled person, but that video evidence offers another plausible explanation. But let's ignore that, because doing so makes him look bad.

Also, in Nigeria, it's estimated that 280 Christians have been murdered by Muslim fanatics since February. How come no one knows about that, how come no one is talking about it, while everyone is talking about what happened in New Zealand?

ANSWER: one atrocity supports the liberal narrative, the other doesn't. And that is all that matters.

We have our Constitution, they don't. If we can ignore the second amendment today because we think it's urgent, what if a weasel like Trump decides he can do away with other amendments he happens to dislike? You OK with that? You OK with politicians in DC deciding which rights actually exist, and which are unnecessary?

We have a mechanism to change the Constitution, if enough of us wish to.

I would like to know how this has anything to do with the tragedy in NZ ,but I guess that isn’t happening. Get it off your chest Got Stripers,I am here to dry your eyes.

Despite The previous administrations overwhelming empathy skills it didn’t seem to discourage further mass shootings at home. I wonder why.

Then a lot of what you take issue with is the fiction created by twisting and misinterpreting of what comes out of his mouth.

Perhaps you missed his 58 twits this weekend
Of course, they don’t matter
Perhaps someone’s ghost is haunting Don the Con or perhaps it’s just the knowledge of what he’s done and he hears the footsteps

Seems you have a skill you suggest like many other of the faithful constantly suggest what has come from his mouth or what in written by him is somehow misinterpreted.. you seem to hold the same views on the constitution anyone who disagrees with parts of it are twisting and misinterpreting its intent .... seems like a familiar trend or just another fiction

oh please...

i also dont think a good outcome
excuses the bad things he does, nor have i ever heard anyone hear say that.

What i believe, is that Trump, like all of us, should
be judged on everything he does, the good and the bad. I bring up both the good and the bad.

All you do is obsess over the bad, and desperately try to pretend that none of the good exists.

With Trump, at this point, my opinion is that the good outweighs the bad. That’s not remotely the same thing as saying that the good erases the bad.

i haven’t seen anyone here who refuses to concede that he’s a disgusting person. But there are several here who refuse to talk about the benefits of
anything he has done. The deniers are on the left, not the right.

Exactly. Without it, if executives could
ban things that resulted in violent deaths, Bush could
have banned Islam on 09/11.

We don’t get to ignore the parts of the constitution that we don’t happen to like.

In many cases (I'd say most) the misinterpretation is not "somehow" but is deliberate. Case in point: Trump was "somehow" proving that he is an alt right or NAZI or white nationalist sympathizer when he said there were good people on both sides of the Charlottesville protests. "Somehow" he was saying that there are good NAZIs.

First, he was obviously referring to the divide between those who wanted to tear down the statues and those who wanted to preserve them. That was the reason for the demonstration. There were, as Trump said, good people on both sides of that issue.

Second, if he had been referring to the NAZI/Antifa conflict, then he would been saying that not only were there good NAZIs, but there were also good Antifa (good people on "both sides"). I don't think it's reasonable to believe that Trump is sympathetic to Antifa, nor that he would be sending dog whistles to them in order to embolden and support them.

Yet, to this day, his Charlottesville comment is intentionally held up by those who oppose or hate him as evidence of his far right, extremist, NAZI and alt right leanings and as a signal that he supports them.

you seem to hold the same views on the constitution anyone who disagrees with parts of it are twisting and misinterpreting its intent .... seems like a familiar trend or just another fiction

Disagreeing with a part of the Constitution does not give a judge the license to ignore it. Judges must uphold the law and apply it as written. If the law is faulty, it is up to Congress to change it, it is not up to a judge to do so. Otherwise, there would be no need of law. Judges would determine on the spot the right and the wrong of every case. Possibly depending, if not on their personal or political beliefs, on which side of the bed they woke up on the day of judgment.

The intent of the Founders can only be applied to interpretation of the law if the intent was stated in the writings and discourse of those Founders. Otherwise, intent is merely a fabrication of the Judge. What is left to the Judge to interpret is the language of the text. When judges stray from that language into various explications of their notion of social justice or equity then they are not interpreting the law, they are creating it.
