Most Overplayed, Worn Out Songs Ever!

Songs that have been played to freakin' death!!!!

Top 3 and its a tie for first place!

Barbara O'Rielly :yak: Not their best song by far!

Stairway To Heaven:doh: Enough already....Zeppelin does have other songs!

Freebird :deadhorse: Please stop!

Raider Ronnie 11-25-2008 06:21 PM

Imagine - John Lennon.
Seems like ever since the first time I heard this, I've heard it a couple times every week.

Sorry it doesn't appeal to you Katie, but that song is timeless, it'll never get old, I can see if it's overplayed some people can get sick of it but it is a classic.

Thomcat I agree, another one =
other worn out is that song by Boston - rock and roll band ..... enough already, I bet it's not overplayed in other cities.

Nothing from Pink Floyd can be worn out :D sorry

BigFish 11-26-2008 11:11 AM

Another Brick In The Wall was most certainly worn out....years ago! Can't even stomach it now!

:wall:<Me and the wall!

Dream On and Walk This Way by Aerosmith. I love most of their old stuff, but those 2 are way overplayed.

redcrbbr 12-01-2008 12:35 AM

guns and roses. any song. I just want to beat up axle rose with a wrench

beaver 12-01-2008 12:35 PM

Huge fans of Seger and Springsteen but I'd have to say Old Time Rock n Roll and Born to Run are over played. Between them they have hundreds of better songs, why not play them.

Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead Or Alive" Seems anytime I'm listening to the radio I hear it. BTW not a jovi fan

you beat me too it! My favorite station has one DJ that has a thing for Mr.Rose.....always talking about him and playing his crap! UGH!

Anyway I would like to add anything AC/DC to the list as well. Sorry I know there are a lot of fans out there. Once upon a time I liked them.....now I cringe when I hear them just like Guns & Roses

I would also vote for Freebird. But right behind that is 'Shiny Happy People" by REM. The complete antithesis to everything else they had written up to that point, but played endlessly, particularly on MTV. Just an awful song when there was so much else to choose from.

ProfessorM 12-19-2008 09:26 AM

margaritaville, god I hate that song

I dunno, I kinda liked it when it was redone by those guys who did it in the Hippity-Hop style, Run and GMC.

All of the above. Radio stations need to expand heir playlists. How about more Dylan. Dead, early Beatles, Kinks (remember them?)
and some widespread panic, Gov't mule, ELP etc.

crockadile rock

Brian L 01-03-2009 07:01 PM

If I never hear "American Pie" or "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" again for the rest of my life, things will be good.

LOL! Good thread!

Adamfishes 01-08-2009 03:47 PM

Come on freebird is over played but it's still great! I prefer simple man (is that even the name of the song?)
:)

I will say I do not like stairway to heaven but Zeppelin is great

Nebe 01-08-2009 03:53 PM

national anthem. And when I say that I mean when it is 'creativly' sung by people at the beginning of large televised sporting events.
