The problem with a new hobby you get pleasure from, it tends to cost you money, as now I have about $1000 worth of new tools to get better at the finer details. Some old timers on this board will know GB and Greg has been a good friend over the years and since he picked up a sweat 26 acre parcel, I've got an endless supply of wood to burn or carve.

The deer was a freebie in appreciation of his help with the wood, but he did insist on paying me something for the owl he commissioned and I delivered just ahead of the new year. Picked up three more pieces of that hardwood, which we still aren't sure what it is, hard as a rock but takes the details nicely.
