just bought Quadraphenia from itunes... I had forgotten how good it is....

Man o man, I got almost all of this stuff on vinyl and very little in electronic format for my Ipod. Got to find a way to change that without breaking the bank. Not so sure I want to re-record them myself from vinyl though. Might be the best way when it is all said and done.

You can buy one of those new usb turntables I think there going for around $100, or I just use the rca outputs on the turntable to 1/4" headphone jack and plug it into the mic input on your computer. I have my whole vinyl collection backed up on my computer doing it that way, I use a program called Cool Edit Pro. You can mess with the levels and background noise to get a nice crisp digital recording.

Probably the way to go, but man do I have a lot of hours worth of vinyl.

Pavement crooked rain
Tool Aenima
Jefferson Airplane Surrealistic
Cornell 77 run among a couple hundred others
Phish Big Cypress or Great Went
Hendrix Electric Ladyland
Dylan Blood on the tracks
Clash London Calling
Husker Du Zen Arcade
Pixies Surfer Rosa
Ween The Mollusk
Stones Let it Bleed
Dvorak new World symphony and Barbers Adagio for Strings melt my face
I could go on all night...

Odelay is a great album.

I have this discussion with one of my friends every time we meet up for drinks. We call it the "desert island 5 albums" which shouldn't need any explanation.

My 5 change often, but right now they would be, in no particular order
Beastie Boys - Check Your Head
Afgan Whigs - Gentlemen
Led Zeppelin II
The Clash - Sandinista!
Rocket From The Crypt - Scream Dracula, Scream

rphud 03-05-2011 07:30 AM

Rocket from the Crypt! cool, I would lean bit more towards Cannibal Corpse

Husker Du, did not see that coming cool too

Odelay would probably be the first one added to my current list, I find myself listening to it over and over during the course of a year

good stuff, keep it coming

I got a live show of Little Feat off of the Wolfgangs Vault site. It is basically the same set as waiting for Columbus but with better live solos and interaction within the band. Great piece of music.
U tube has some awesome quality videos from Holland in 76. Check them out there are several tunes great stuff, great band.
Here is one with them doing one of my favorite tunes from Feats don't fail me now.

YouTube - Little Feat - Skin It Back
