Great quality video. Baits are swimming great but look wrong.

Thats one impressive video. It looks effortless for the marlins keeping up with the baits when they get close.

Always wanted to see the rigged baits from that perspective, looks like split tail mullet which are very active compared to macs or blues due to the spine being removed.

I think he has them rigged differently. Looks like a cork and a weight. I can't imagine rigging a natural bait dredge. Lots of work. But if you have the time and the bait...I am sure it works.

The trend seem to be going to those large Mylar ribbons with fish printed on them. Probably out of practicality. I have only use the rubber fish (paddle tails and molded ballyhoo types). They work well but can exert a lot of drag at higher speeds.
It is cool to see the fish approach them.

The second video is really cool. Watching the marlin trying to stun the "prey" with its bill is funny. He never gave up.

I helped deliver a sporty from FL to Cap Cana in the Dominican in May and saw first hand how the real marlin mates rig a dredge. It's very time consuming and I videoed one of the top mates from south America rigging mullet and if I can find it I'll post it. They are very meticulous in their work. They all use at least one dredge and most use two at once. Of course these are the rock stars of the southern waters and the rigs they are fishing on are unreal.
I stayed for the practice day of fishing and saw first hand how they tease and pitch baits to marlin and sails. Very interesting and a great experience.
