question...surface vs subsurface medallips

just wondering what everyones thoughts were on what works best in most situations...i love to swim pikies subsurface and my thoughts are that for every fish caught on top theres 2 that would have hit subsurface....whats more effective for you guys?

Surface by about 20:1 in daylight, less so in the dark.
Of course I have so much faith in surface swimmers I hardly fish subsurface swimmers.

Will depend on the conditions and where you are fishing. Down here, November to early April, its a subsurface bite. I've caught a striper or two on surface swimmers in December, but probably 99.9% are subsurface. Late April to June, probably 95% surface, 5% subsurface, though I'm mostly fishing surface swimmers at that time. I know when I am up your way, subsurface off the breachways, mostly surface off the rocks/beaches. I'm mostly throwing topwater swimmers off the rocks/beaches, so that may have something to do with it.
