That's great to hear, especially if it's produced like you guys say, if they are going to "act" they should get compensated!

Marciarno was at the Jersey boat show a 3 day event he did not realise that he would sell out on 500 sweat shirts in 2 hours of the boat show opening...he will be at the Baltimore boat show in March...Marciarno and a crew member from .com will be taping a 30 minute food show with Rachel Ray....Marciarno is the most popular character on the show....:)
|
See..there is some hope in human kind if he is the most popular!

I know that, but even before gutting and with the head, it was short in my opinion, figured it would go over 200 with head
the tape measure wasn't even stretched |

Question for you guys as I know nothing about Tuna fishing - on the show, when they hook up, they start driving the boat, but you never see them pull the anchor, are they doing it and we just don't see it or what is happening?
|
Usually drop the line overboard, the line has a buoy and they go back after to retrieve it, unless some scumbag takes it on them
|
Like slip said the anchor has a quick disconnect & bouy and can be let go easily

I see... so then I would imagine there is still a risk the fish can get tangled in the anchor line...
|
Yes very real risk. And other anchors as well. The mono will slice an anchor rope quick

Don't tie a loop in the end that you tie to the boat
Have it go thru the bow chock, then bring it down to midship cleat or wherever you can reach it. When you need to go Just uncleat the end and let it slip up the rail and thru the bow chock. I use 1" yellow floating line so I can't run it over Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

Just watched the latest episode last night - question for you guys again on the economics of this. They build it up like there is a fortune to be made out there and many captains say they can make a whole year salary, but I just don't see it. I mean it's nine weeks in and the gross earnings for the top guys is about $50K for the entire boat, by the time they pay the crew and fuel and supplies is this really possible?
|
im wondering the same thing. Bounty Hunter has a 200K boat and all the expenses. Whats his offseason job?
