That does work on shallow flesh(the string yank-out technique) but you have to be careful you are not hung up on tendons...if you rip them out you will have a lot of post problems moving your hand.


We have all had hooks in our hands to different degrees. It is a pain...esp when the fish is still attached as well.

That finger hook pic you posted the other day, did you crimp the barb and back it out?

Nope, after poking the barb through the skin (ODM went into a bow and worked this out by himself, no whiskey), we cut the barb off with small bolt cutters then backed out the rest of the treble.

ODM was STOIC!
