All of the Penn Internationals are still made in the U.S.

A good buddy who is very salty told me anything after 2006 +/- is made in China and does not stand up to the old Penn's

Lots of threads like these around on the same subject

Neither of those threads have anything to do with the big Internationals. I'm surprised it didn't switch to arguing about Yellowfin vs Contender. :rotf2:

As Mike said, they're made in the US.

Pfft, Cape Horn, it would survive what that one regulator survived that drifted across the atlantic, make you coffee, wax itself, and give you free gas and trip 300 vrods.

Ha, sounds like that other "truth" boat site........

Sorry for going off topic, good luck with your search Mungerish (and like MakoMike & Likwid said, the Penn International line is still made in USA).......

Better tell him take a shower. 'cause he certainly doesn't know what he's talking about. :)

Well, he may very well be all wet on this one...But seein how he is a former Navy Seal who grew up commercial fishing with his grandfather out of Gloucester....I'll just assume I heard him wrong :)

There's probably 1000 black boats rigged that way between Gloucester/Cape/NB.

Typhoon 03-26-2012 07:06 AM

Based on the logo in the front I think it's one of the Bramante boats.

I dunno, but when I saw that I immediately thought to myself...I says Self,... how do I get me a stuffed dead seagull to hang from the tallons of my fake plastic owl when the boat is in its slip? They have gotten wise to the lies of my fake owl and that might just freak em out again :)

zacs 03-26-2012 09:29 PM

big fat fake snake laid on on the bow has worked well for me in the past. somewhere i have a picture of a seagull standing on top of the fake owl at my dad's slip...

mungerish 03-27-2012 03:56 PM

Yeah, old hootie is fallin down on the job.
When I had a canvas T-top I strung heavy mono as bird wire in a star pattern. It worked like a charm, but I can't bring myself to drill holes in my hard top. On the canvas i just used plastic bolts and nuts up thru the gromets and drilled holes in the nuts to run the mono thru them. ( Now that I think about it, that sounds like what an old fishing buddy's wife did to him after he married her):uhuh:
