can I put a metal cutting blade on a chop saw?

Like a big wizzer wheel?
I need to cut a bunch of stainless pipe and steel stock.

I put a metal cutting blade on my compound miter saw to cut metal ballusters...works fine.

Just make sure to buy multiple blades as the diameter of the blade gets smaller as you use it ...to the point where it gets too small to make the cuts.

Difference between a metal chop saw & miter saw is blade diameter, RPMs and the guard.
It can be done but you will most likely do some melting to the plastic guard.

I used an older saw that I had...no real damage but it does make a mess....and alot of sparks and smoke of course.

Abrasive wheel on the chop saw is a better option for stainless and probably cheaper but not sure of price. I just wear them out and let company pay for them.
