Ditch Jigger - Next Chapter

Some of you know - and I just got a message from #### ( ;) ) - yes Mike is moving to Finland. He recently retired and he and the bride are going east and cold.

Wish them luck on their journey though he will be without WiFi / Internet for a little bit.

Good luck M&C !

First time back on s-b since the move. My PC arrived a few days ago, and I had to get a converter to handle the higher voltage (230v).

We live close to a lake, but unless you consider perch and the occasional pike to be exotic...... :biglaugh:

We don't have a car. Yearly pass for the bus is about $350, good 24/7/365. That's less than a monthly T commuter rail ticket, I think. We live in Finland's third largest city, Tampere. The bus takes us everywhere we want to go, including the airport. To visit relatives in the hinterland, rental cars are cheap (but gas isn't).

So far, nothing but great experiences with the health care system. I just got a bill for my last doctor's visit---17 Euros. :btu:

Sounds great Mike. Curious to hear how the winters are and hope to see some great pictures in the future. Enjoy.

I know we have never met but enjoy Europe! All the best to you and your family. If you are close enough, you may be able to go on a deep sea fishing charter!

You mean sauna. Finns usually jump in the lake afterwards, not a jacuzzi. Even in winter.

Actually, we have met. I met you at one of those "meet me in the middle" casting contests that they used to have on SOL. I didn't throw, but I came to watch. ;)
