Nebe 11-09-2012 06:14 PM

All i gotta say is go see Argo... it was awesome.

Tagger 11-10-2012 07:35 AM

oh,, I hope it's good ... been looking forward to this .. Who's the hot chick in this one ? Bond ---> simple recipe ,, hotties , villains ,gadgets,,action.. How'd they screw that up ?

HESH2 11-10-2012 08:13 AM

believe me they screwed it all up .50 year old franchise and they filmed in like 50 year old method(no hd type film).no hotties he is made an old man agent.no great open or closing seen.i've seen all the bonds and this was bad.no real gadgets.

spence 11-10-2012 08:17 AM

I'm going to. The only criticism I've heard was Ben wearing a new 10# Rolex at times before snapping out of it and going to a Vintage piece :rotf2:

Uhm, I'd say from this comment you did NOT see this movie.

It was amazing in Imax. No HD? You definitely didn't see it.

You are either blind, or edit, or blind and edit!

Edit: gay folks have taste, you do not.

PaulS 11-10-2012 09:48 PM

Go see it. We liked it.

No it doesn't. :hihi:

I dunno, its a tossup depending on which era.
Modern: Craig hands down, Bronson was a clown who should have died in the first one. Also too whiny.
Classic: Connery, by a million miles.

Connery vs Craig? I dunno, currently favoring Craig.
We'll see how Bond 24 and 25 go.

Thought it was pretty good.
I like Craig a lot. He gets dirty and bruised.... All the other Bonds looked perfect after a 10 minute fight scene. The hot chick is Calypso from Pirates of the Carribean

that actually sounds more like the old bond flicks whihc I love. All the massive action crash and burn crap has ruined the franchise for me.

Saw it yesterday. Pretty good. Bit of an existential psychodrama. Bond has always been a sort of existential character without the baggage of existential angst. He was totally immersed in being the 007 agent. And we were entertained by the heroic action of an indestructable character who was always rewarded in the end by a fling with a hottie. There were occasional minor lapses into what was behind the mask but not so much penetration (except with the hottie) that it interfered with the surface action. This film takes a different tack. The action and hotties are still there, but they play a minor role to finding out who bond really is. His age is played up and his past intrudes. He is still the action man, but with more reflection. His current mission is a watershed of insight into his and the supporting heavies' psyches. The conflict is not merely good vs. bad, foreign enemies against the home front, it is about an internal enemy. A sort of Pogoesque we have met the enemy and it is us. The whole mission and method of MI6 is brought into question by the brilliantly portrayed villain with his warnings to "look on your own sin." The price of the methods used by the MI6 director, judi Dench, is high enough to exact revenge. Rather than just hard-nosed orders and actions, either by the good guys or the bad guys, the internal costs are analyzed and weighed. Even the initially villainous hottie, Marlohe, has her hard, beautiful veneer exposed by Bond to be borne of a fear that masks a softer virtue. She plays the hell out that scene. There is some really good acting in this film. The cinematography is lush. The trip back into Bond's infant home is particularly striking. The old English mansion, Skyfall, sequestered in an isolated English marshland is visually striking and foreboding of a dark past and the tragedy of his parents death there leaving Bond an orphan is telling as is the MI6 directors comment that orphans make the best recruits. Bond's apparent death in the beginning and his usual ultimate escape from that condition, this time, leads to an exploration of what and who those who people the agency existentially are, and if there is anything beyond the existential duty to do the job. His return to duty after the obligatory physical and, especially, the psychological exam is one of the many little keys to the psychodrama that unfolds. See the movie if you want to find out who these people, according to the film, are. There are a lot of symbolic remarks and scenes that will subliminally affect you, or even blatantly jump out at you such as Bond's reference to a "brave new world." And, after all the death dealing and death defying action ask yourself if you're convinced by an aging Bond's final remark when asked if he was ready to return to the field was a Yes, With Pleasure.

I agree with HESH. This bond flick pretty much sucked. I was wicked dissapointed with it. A lot of really lame one liners. comodo dragon pit...... c'mon seriously?. He Doesnt even get to sleep with ANY of the hot chicks in the movie. one becomes a desk jockey and the other one gets shot by a gay guy. First half of the movie just about nothing happens. Two and a half hours of my life I want back. And that walther ppk short looks like a squirt gun in Craigs hands

Miles away from Casino Royale

I've been a 007 fan for a long time and has seen all his films, some 3-4-5 times. I was really looking forward to"Skyfall" being toubted as the best "Bond Film" of all time. After seeing the film and giving this repsonse much thought, I have to admit "I was not impressed" and did not think it was very good. What a shame !!

RIJIMMY 11-27-2012 12:21 PM

I had no intention of seeing this but my bro-in law convinved me T-day night to go. I loved it. great action, great villian, good plot. I have no idea what movie the rest of you guys saw!
from JohnnyS - "He Doesnt even get to sleep with ANY of the hot chicks in the movie" Dude, seriously? When the girl is shaving him and he starts unbottoning her shirt, you didnt think it implied he slept with her after that? Then he gets on the yacht with the asian babe and joins her in the shower - you dont think he slept with her? Were you paying attention?
I think this was the best Bond film in years.

best line "what makes you think this is my first time" whole theater busted out laughing at that one.

JohnR 11-27-2012 03:55 PM

Me and the Bride saw it last week - we both thought it one of the best Bonds in a long time.
