So as of this time RI and MA do not recognize each others licenses. Am i reading this correctly? I was really hoping the MA, RI and CT would all cover each other.

Gloucester2 01-24-2011 03:10 PM

that's the way I read it Rob - but I think this reciprocity stuff is evolving . . . :fury:

Saltheart - thanks for posting that info - it was most helpful :uhuh:

Mr. Sandman 01-24-2011 03:27 PM

"All permit fees will be deposited in a dedicated account, managed by the Division of Marine Fisheries"

:wall: This is like giving free crack to an addict!:jump1:

It wont be long before DMF officials are driving BMW's now...

This plan is already WAY too complicated and will not do what it is intended to do...help count fish.

Salty 01-25-2011 08:39 AM

I was just thinking, what does a guy from Vt do, buy a license from each state.

big al 03-02-2011 08:42 PM

what next are they going to throw at us are first born.

MakoMike 03-25-2011 12:01 PM

Now that NY has just eliminated its license and gone over to a free registry like NJ, will RI follow suit?

bloocrab 03-30-2011 05:55 PM

Has anyone found anything official, stating that MA and RI are reciprocal states?

I found this on the RI DEM site...

http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/bnatr...df/saltabs.pdf

Page 7, first paragraph lists Connecticut and New York only.

I found this on the MA DMF site....

http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dmf/recre...dual_ma_ri.pdf

A letter from Paul Diodati stating that MA would accept another state, if that state accepts ours...

????? ...........?????

What's the final verdict and where can one officially find it???

MaineRob 04-01-2011 05:34 PM

The MA site has pdf documents showing the reciprocity with RI, CT, and NH.

:jump1:

MaineRob 04-01-2011 05:37 PM

The number is on the RI license in real small print so I wrote it on the back much larger before laminating it.

Well you made me laugh! It's been a long, tough day and I needed that.

Thank you nightfighter. I do have the MA # in my phone as well as local police.
It's all good.

Maxfish 04-26-2011 10:50 PM

The licenses have nothing to do with fishing, it has to do with identity checks.

Chunkah 01-05-2012 06:27 AM

Did you guys have one last year too?

piemma 01-05-2012 08:12 AM

I didn't. I had the federal license. Just decided to get the RI license and keep the money in the state.

JohnR 01-05-2012 08:35 AM

Federal license worked last year. This year I believe in RI you need the RI license which will be reciprocal in CT & Mass.

So NY, NJ, ME, & MD won't get fishing revenue from me.

Will Post this as a sticky - thanks!

Clammer 01-05-2012 08:49 AM

Got It & have it lamanated already .My luck I,d get checked up river by the only time DEM has ever been there .
too bad its all parking meters .its been descent during the daylight :fishin:
