Recommendation for Gear for laker Jigging

I have been watching the ice fisherman on lake Sunapee for the past 20 years and now want to start fishing for lakers on Lake Sunapee. They fish range from 18-30 inches that I have see caught. Most guys use green jigs tipped with a strip of Sucker.

What length rod do you recommend for laker jigging. The depth the fish are found seems to be 30-60 feet where I plan to fish. medium heavy action for the rod.

is Kittery trading post a good place to buy jigging rods/reels for Ice fishing?

Chris
