Just use your favorite bait rig, either the high low or slider. I like circle hooks and putting 2 on each hook. Make sure they are fresh, mushy bait is is no good. Another option is if you have current is just to drift them. They aren't called striper candy for nothin.

depends on the conditions
 
i put them on a high/low right with a 5-6 oz mushroom sinker. using circle hooks, just behing the head, letting the tail hang down. if there is a rip in the area, i use a slightly lighter sinker and let them drift in the rip, this seem to be the more productive way of fishing them For Me.

Also an in-line sinker[drail]dragged along the bottom with the hook through the eyes.Dropper rig with the hook 16" up from the bank sinker[great for banging the bottom in the canal]or in place of the sinker use a jig.
