well i posted a thread about sealing a couple days ago.i did some research and BLO is out of the question B/c it was alot of money around here. i was wondering about dippping the plug in urethane and cuting it with some type of thinner. has any one ever done this befor? if so i was wondering what would work better with it bin primer or some other brand. o yea i also use createx paint. i really appreciate all of your guys help and input. thank you so much.

Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane and BIN is a good combo that works for me but I use rattle cans. You can cut the Helmsman with mineral spirits.

The SOL board has a good thread on a test they did with a bunch of sealers. Search for "Plug sealing experiment". All sorts of charts and graphs you can draw conclusions from.
