Metal Lip Position Info

Has anyone played around with changing the position of the lip? what i mean is raising the lip above center or below center of the plug and what effect it has?

i have been looking for some info around this but i have not found anything solid.

thanks in advance!

what I've found is that the higher the lip slot, the deeper the plug swims. The lower the slot, the higher it swims (surface swimmer). This, plus lead and wood density, all play a part as well.
