New emails show FBI agents leaked info designed to hurt Trump

OK Spence, tell me why this is a nothingburger. Looks to me, like senior FBI agents, who happened to hate Trump, hatched a plan to leak information in a manner that had nothing whatsoever to do with the investigation, but rather in a way designed to hurt Trump, which they obviously wanted to do.

If I therefore say that our FBI was interfering in the 2016 election, how would that be wrong?

They weren't very successful at it, were they?
Or is this just a lead into: everybody is picking on Trump and it is all part of a deepstate plot by the Democrats, FBI and DOJ to overthrow his very successful Greatest of all time presidency
Perhaps you think Mark Felt was wrong also?

"They weren't very successful at it, were they?"

Unbelievable. So would you not arrest people for attempted murder, if their victims survive? The issue is their intent. You really can't see anything other than your hatred of Trump, can you? Nothing else exists.

"Or is this just a lead into: everybody is picking on Trump "

No, it's nothing like that. Can we stick to this issue for a moment?

If Trump is indeed a con artist, and if he is, in the end, elected, we may end up not wanting to admit that we were scammed. At the moment, Trump’s supporters see him as authentic and honest, even as they dismiss more traditional candidates, like Hillary Clinton, as quintessential politicians—that is, as opportunistic liars. Perhaps, in the future, we’ll cling to this belief to preserve our collective self-image. In that case, the term “con artist” may end up applying to us, too.

for one nanosecond, forget you hate trump. does it bother you, that the fbi tried to tilt the election, or dontiy just not care because they tried to help your candidate?

Don't hate Trump, I see him for what he is, a con man.
The FBI can be investigated, no deep state plot has been shown, and you'll find a few rogue agents, just like any organization
Not my candidate

There are times when leaks are crucial to well run democracy. Would you rather have an authoritarian state?? Trump sure does

"are times when leaks are crucial to well run democracy"

That may be true. But the emails make it clear that these leaks were not designed to serve our democracy in a grand sense, but to hurt Trump.

So the alternative to having the FBI act this way, is to have an authoritarian state? There's nothing in between? Are you feeling OK?

How about the FBI investigates crimes rather than torpedoing candidates they don't like, AND the president acts within the limits of his powers. Those two things are not mutually exclusive, in fact, one has nothing to do with the other.

I don't see how you can infer that from the information cited in the report. The authors are quoting cryptic fragments of texts that don't have any context. The IG has already reported Strozk's clear dislike for Trump didn't bias his work for the FBI.

The reporters at FOX News appear to just be chasing one of Trump's tweets, sort of like how a cat chases a laser pointer on the wall.

I hear you! But I think I'm responding somewhat rationally. But that was funny right there.

Context is not clear and anyone can cherry pick from text, emails and verbal conversations and make something sound completely different. Not sure I’m buying into s state news and Trump efforts to devert attention from one of his worst weeks. Not only that, while Hillary made a number of admitted mistakes that cost her the election, are you forgetting the October Comey final nail in her coffin. If the FBI wanted to hurt Trump that was a funny way to go about it just before the election.

If Strozk wanted to hurt Trump wouldn't he have leaked that the FBI had Trump's campaign under investigation???

Another conspiracy theory of Jim's falling apart. He's read too much Fox.

When Strzok and his mistress were (1) investigating the Hilary email situation, (2) investigating the Trump campaign, and (3) texting that "they would stop" Trump from becoming President, how many ways can you interpret that? A lot of different ways? In how many ways were they in a position to alter a national election? Do you think they meant that they were each going to donate $50 to the Hilary campaign? Do you think they meant that they would each put a Hilary sign on their lawns? Would either one of those actions have put them in a singular position to significantly alter the election? Or could they have only done that, by putting their thumbs on the scales during the very important, high-level investigations?

Again who is "THEY" is that the FBI, or was it referring to the voting public, is it congress, that one cherry picked statement without a long list of full text and supporting conversations proves absolutely nothing. Anyone cherry picking and posting bits and pieces is using it for a reason, what might that be?

Are you saying that just because he said something that was accurate, that his detractors shouldn't attack him for saying it?

Doesn't matter what he says anymore. He says it's going to bring a lot of rain (but says it clumsily), he gets made fun of for it.

Do you talk that way (I don't think so)? He sounds like he learned English from a Berlitz tape. This from a man who braggs about his IQ and challenges people to an IQ test and says he's "like, really smart" and "a very stable genius".

Remember how Obama was mocked for using a telepromter and petty people used to post picture of him in his mom shorts riding his bike.
