Dealers are gettin ripped off. Still can't tow a boat with a Prius though.

So if I have a clunker with a trade in value of 15K and the govmint gives me 4500 and the dealer matches it I have basically a 24K TRADE IN,right? So I buy a 15k Yaris, do I get a check?

Nameless Toyota dealer on Aquidneck, told potential buyer he would have to chase the Febs for the 4500. The dealer refuses to do so. But will destroy the clunker at buyers expense.

Use some of that TARP money that has been returned, or the high-mileage vehicle funding already available but not taken by the RustBelt car manufacturer's

I'm waiting for a reel clumker program so i can get a Van Staal.

The dealership near me has about 50 clunkers parked in the back lots with no plates or prices on them.

It seems that dealers are no longer letting customers pick up their cars because the Feds are screwing up the 1 billion dollar program so bad.

Yes and the $4500 rebate is prolly taxable as income, like all other Gov't rebates.

Well I took advantage of this program, thanks to all of you for your contributions in future tax $$. Traded in my 97 4 Runner with 185K miles on it for a new Tacoma. Happy to take $3,500 from Uncle Sam, and no it is not taxable.

As a tax payer I hate this program, but I'll take it!!

Since I helped pay for your new ride I'll be expecting you to give me rides when needed, which isn't all that often. I usually only need rides late at night after drinking too much or when I need to carry something really messy in the car like a carcass.

And I'm sure Japan will take it too:fury:
