LOL....I remember having that same feeling the day I unloaded all the materials for my C17...that was accompanied by a series of hot flashes:1poke:.... wondering how I would ever finish it...once started. It was a grind towards the finish line....but so worth it in the end.

It looks like you are doing very well...nice work space too!

Is it an SK14 you are building? Looks like a fun ride.

Looks like a neat boat.

My theory has always been: why ruin a perfectly good hobby by making it a job.
Came from a friend of mine who owned a gun and fishing tackle shop.

Just make sure to keep the foam, shop and boat as warm as possible....or it wont expand to its full potential.

Boat building is a very rewarding hobby.......the trips I've made over to the Elizabeths and Cutty in something built with my own two hands....priceless.

Looks like you're building from plans.... laying out and cutting your own parts as apposed to the cnc cut kit they offer....and you're cutting two mirror image parts at once.....that's great. That little saw must be good for cutting those long curves. You will definately be ready... skill wise for the next boat. Keep in mind that you're at the fun stage.....fairing and sanding is a lot less fun!

thanks! Painting was a hobby for me 5 years ago, look what happened with that :rollem:

I went with just the plans as opposed to the kit. I figured just go all out, and if i make some bad cuts I can just live with it. thankfully wasn't too bad, made one kinda off cut but it made no difference, a little wood flour and you'll never know.

Going slow, i just faired the tops of the stringers this weekend and finished giving any bare wood a coat of epoxy. I'll bring the boat inside the house the next couple days and pour the foam inside the house, then bring it back outside to the garage to shave it. I can't get my garage nearly warm enough to pour the foam.

We do a lot of spray foam, it’s pretty toxic stuff and I think the pourable is similar
Might be better off to build a tent inside your garage to warm a small area.

just like that I have a boat :)

Back in Cape Cod after a week and a couple days in florida, I had to deliver a piece of art to marco island, so it was the perfect opportunity for a mini boat advenure...

nothing like going from "ive never trailered a boat" to "I just did 3,200 miles and 9 different boat ramps"

:)

I'm building a bigger boat. a real 18' flats boat ;)

thanks! I actually enjoyed the whole process. Sanding fairing compound took me down a peg or two but only for a week ;)
