Here is a snippet from the doctor interviewed for this story:
"That said, however, parents of children should keep one thing in mind. And that is, if there is a toxic effect of aspartame, and I'm not saying there is, the jury is still out, but if there is, the effects are probably going to be greater, the smaller your body weight, so children would be more susceptible than adults. "

You're right on the money Raven!

A friend of mine is married to a gal who ingests diet coke like there is no tomorrow, and she has just recently been diagnosed with cancer, and the prime suspect is the aspartame...

She is in her young 30's

Evil Stuff

Won't let my kids drink anything with that synthetic crap in it. Won't touch it myself. Good old natural sugar for me. It may be high in calories, but your body knows what to do with it.

Bliz 04-26-2007 11:17 PM

Were you aware that Centrum Childrens Vitamins now contain aspartame as well?... I stopped giving them to my children as a result of seeing it on the back of the bottle.

I think it's obscene how many products are adding things like this to their ingredients without a clear indication on the front of the label.

Raven 04-27-2007 05:50 AM

i don't know how

but we all need to kick the FDA's ass somehow....

because they are so in the pocket
of someone else that its sickening :hs:
