Seems like every species so far are larger than usual,,, hoping the bass follow suit,,,, so far small for me...

44in 35 lb plus bottomed out my 30 boga with ease smashed a bone color spook like 5 ft from the boat . got a 38 in and a keeper ..home by 830 .. was at the same spot last nights tide not even a sniff?!!

I disagree. 'Goosefish' John Lee taught me the commercial/sushi grade way; hit them in the gills with the knife just enough to get them bleeding and then into water. They don't get it all out when you hit them across the throat latch, they expire too fast.

Gill em, gut em, pack them salt water ice slurry... even Pollock stay firm when treated this way, it only takes a few seconds.

I got a super scaler on Amazon that takes about 30 seconds per seabass. Gut them and take their head off for a nice presentation. Salt pepper tomatoes and shallots then wrap in foil and throw on the charcoal!

Dont tell nico he might get mad at you. Maybe I am lashing out because you mass guys can catch seabass and we have to twiddle our thumbs for a couple of weeks.....
