Heady Topper

Sent a friend on a mission as long as he was headed to VT. Seems like the word is out. All sold out everywhere, even the brewery itself. Very disappointing.

One of (if not THE) best IPA's I've ever had. Last time I was there I bought 16 and it went way too fast.

Tuesday and Friday are the days to be there. They're looking to increase production by years end.

Hey, new here, but not new to HT... heading to Burlington next weekend... anyone in CT want me to pick a couple up for them? I have been struggling to figure out a way to make a name for myself on this site... this might be a good way...

This all rests, of course, on them actually having it available when I get up there

Sea Dangles 09-20-2012 01:58 PM

I'm in. Thank You Scratch!

blondterror 09-20-2012 07:15 PM

I found some at my local craft beer store 2 weeks ago... stuff is amazing... I will bring some to Cutty next June... it comes in cans... perfect for Cutty

Ian 09-20-2012 10:39 PM

The stuff is to die for... love the tallboys too... 12 oz is not enough Heady Topper per serving :)

I actually used to do this when I was active on Beer Advocate's forums... Where do you live?

rphud 09-27-2012 08:21 AM

Hi Scratch

I am in the Hartford area and will take some. As much as is reasonable seeing as a bunch of folks are looking for some. I can help distribute to others not local too if you need assistance.

Was at the dog park last night and talked to a couple that toured a bunch of places while their son was at hockey camp at Norwich and they picked up a case at the brewery. Did not seem willing to share though.

I will be "on island" next week, so I will not be able to pick up for a bit.

Let me know what is going on when you can.

I am leaving Saturday morning for Burlington. I am going to assess the situation (available quantity and cost) when I get there and I will post here. I don't know what it comes in (4/6/12 packs) as I have only had people get me a few cans at a time in the past.

Nebe, I fish the RI shore pretty regularly, I'm sure we can arrange something that doesn't require postage.

Does anyone have some answers to the logistical stuff I posted here? How much is it, how many come to a "pack", how is the availability in the fall?

I should be able to get a bunch, but I want to keep expectations in check until I know there is a bunch to be "got"

Maybe I'll shoot a note to the brewery.

rphud 09-27-2012 01:28 PM

I am hearing it is priced about $3.50 per can, but you can get cases. The most important logistic may be that they can on Monday and Thursday, and so you may want to be there first thing on Tuesday or Friday. There are also some stores about VT that will have some, a list of which are at the Alchemist web site.

Ian 09-27-2012 01:37 PM

I sent them a note. Hoping the Friday thing doesn't hold water... cuz I wont be there till Saturday afternoon

Nebe 09-27-2012 04:17 PM

Hey scratch, sign me up for 1 or 2 4 packs... Meeting up is fine with me... I'll reimburse you plus give you one of my beers.. I will be bottling a saison in 2 weeks

According to their site, the 4 pack/16 oz. cans are $12. According to their FB updates, Sat. afternoons are bad .

I'll be there around 1 tomorrow, I just reserved a single case.... hoping they have another when I get there... I assume their cases are 24 cans

flyvice11787 09-28-2012 03:11 PM

Nice!! Didn't know one can make a reservation.

Good thing I reserved a case... they and all other local stores were out by noon yesterday...

I have 3 people asking for some in this thread. Each of you will get one 4 pack... wish I had more to hand out... thought I'd be able to get more.

Sea dangles, nebe, and rphud, we will be talking...

I'm gonna try a few other places today to see if I can find more
