Wire Line - How to
 

I have been researching required gear to fish wire line. I have not been able to find any information regarding how to rig wire line. I am trying to find how to tie mono to to wire and what amounts of each to use. My two sons and I are wanting to try trolling wire line for stripers this summer but I don't want to teach them any bad habits, and I also don't want to look like a puts.
Any information or links to how to sites would be greatly appreciated.

reels,penn 4/0, 6/0stainless spool {wire screws up plastic spools}
rods need carballoy or hardened giudes
100' feet of dacron for backing, {ten turn albrite knot to wire}
then 100' sections of 40#-50# wire {spliced together with 1' dacron}
20' 80#mono to parachute {homer rhode loop knot to jig}
pork rind {4"uncle josh red&white}
fish "deep".

Just go to Google.com and search for rigging wire line, lots of stuff there. Good luck.

Spend the doe and get #60 monel
put it on in either 100 or 150 foot shots then albright each section together with a 5 foot shot 120lb dacron
I use to Jig in 70 to 90 feet of water off MV and this set up will put You down.
once Your on the bottom what You do is Jig on the dacron not the wire.
I would put the rod in the holder and wear a leather glove and Jig By grabbing the dacron.
In this way there is no need to give the handle a crank as You would do with wire.

oh Yes once the fish would take the chute.
I would throttle the boat up and surf the bass in.
when You get good You can drop Your line to the bottom in nutral.
This was always good for that extra 150 or 200 Bucks worth Before heading in.

one other thing.
dont overlook the large GT swimmers in blue and white and mack
wood will get You bass.
In May there will Be Macks and herring around there I would assume.
there is in MV sound
