"From our South County Mobile Newsroom, Eyewitness News in Narragansett, where rough waters stranded two young men on a rock off the coast.

They're rescued after calling for help from a cell phone. The teens became stranded near "the dunes club".

After getting caught in the rough surf when police say they climbed a rock and called for help. A helicopter was called-in to carry the two to shore. No one was injured."

If the surf was huge I would never wade out all the way to the clumps .. Even in flat calm I wouldnt unless I was in full Narrow R. gear... (Wetsuit and PFD).....

Sometimes it takes the scare of going out to put the fear of god in people. It happens a lot that people make it out on their own but not back. I guess its good that at least they smartened up before being swept away on the way back in again.
