Face to face with Fish-eye
Finally met Fish-eye at the Cuttyhunk this morning. We were supposed to do some fishing... but as Cuttyhunk has done to me (a number of times) in the past...the weather made it too difficult to do what you would really like to do. Half way across the sound at daybreak my cell phone rings. "Looking pretty sloppy here Jim...” Well, made the trip and BS'ed for the better part of an hour on the CG dock. Very interesting guy. His perspective is so unique and helpful I could talk to him all day. Always nice to meet someone who likes the same things you do. Hope to hook up with him again soon.
I will let him elaborate but the night prior he called me at home and I could tell by his voice he was quite excited. He had just come back from diving that afternoon and saw *lotsa* striped fishes. That night, I had been fretting about what the weather would be like the next morning (the forecast sucked) but after his call the forecast did not seem so bad.... I was almost excited as he was. But it was not ment to happen this morning. Perhaps another time.... In and out of Canapitsit channel is always "refreshing" in strong blow, this morning it looked just like that ad I see in SWS for that big CC in Oregon Inlet . |
Man I looked EVERYWHERE for bassalo yesterday and got nuthin down there!!!
I was bummered. |
i actually surfed in canapissit channel a couple years ago...
was perfect for it... but if you got caught inside... it got sketchy fun place in a blow :smash: |

.....you mean EYE to EYE ...don't ya.......:laughs: :laughs: |
Mike has so much knowledge from swimming at fish level it's disgusting. Kinda makes me want to bring a wetsuit, fins, and a snorkel whenever I go fishing. :laughs:
