Skinny Sand - A Little Help

They say there's no such thing as a dumb question, so at the risk I will ask anyway. I was reading an article about an 11 year old kid who won a tournament I fished in recently. One sentence said, "Beach conditions were also tough with skinny sand throughout the island." Now I'm not sure what skinny sand is, or rather my interpretation was 'not much or narrow beach', but I sure observed more than a thin stretch. So what's skinny sand anyway?

sure! skinny sand is the stuff you see in RI....small grains like dust....and FAT sand is the stuff you see on the cape....big grains...well fed.

I like healthy sand!;) :laughs: :laughs: :laughs: :laughs:
