Speaking of handguns.... I'm REALLY partial to the S&W Tactical shop .40
 

This has to be one of the easiest to shoot/most accurate/most fun tactical handguns I've ever shot in my life.
Was lent to me when origionally aquired by a sherrif up in the north country to take for a test drive.

I've owned a number of S&W autoloaders (prior to new management, of course) and I wasn't impressed with them. Impossible to shoot double action accurately out of the box without some smithing. Last model I had was a stainless 4506. Wonder yours compares to the older models.

It'd just come in from their tactical shop.
Was built for the sherrif up yonder as his carry.

Shot a case of cor-bon 160gr performance match through it.
All on paper without a single misfire/jam
Also shot very very naturally.

I wasn't a big fan of S&W except for the revolvers either. But, my buddy recently picked up a 4013TSW which looks identical to that 4003TSW. If I'm not mistaken, it's just a little more compact.
I have to say that I was impressed with the action and accuracy when I squeezed off a few at the club a couple of weeks ago.
He also has the basic 457 S&W .45 that wasn't too bad either but I liked the .40 better.

.40s&w is a whole lotta fun to shoot
.45 can get a bit tiring after a long afternoon of drills...
.40 i've been able to plow through the course time after time without any issues whatsoever

yeah you get used to .45... but .40 is just a whole lot faster/more comfortable to shoot IMO

A police department near us tried out those new fancy guns. Misfires, Jams and even a slide that "Welded" itself to the frame. They have opted to go with Glocks now.

Gotta love a glock!

Boston PD stopped using Glocks for those reason.
Go figure...

Bought a Glock 17 shortly after they first came out. Took it to the range, fired a box of rounds through it. Cleaned and packed it back in the box. Brought it back to the shop and traded it for a Sig.
I really disliked the Glock a lot and didn't care that I lost a couple of $$. I've had the Sig now for about 14 years and couldn't be happier with it.
Yeah, .45's can be punishing. I've got a 1911A that was my grandfather's. After a couple boxes of rounds with that, I can feel it for a week afterwards.

I do sport competetive shooting with a 1911 A1.
Also have slight wrist problems from years of keyboards and mice, I know the feeling :D

I don't get fatigued by an afternoon of shooting .45 ACP's.

.357's and .44's are another story. :err:

Nowadays I shoot a lot of .40 S&W b/c the terminal ballistics compare favorably to the 9 mm para.

Just went through 150 rounds of .45 out of the old man's S&W full size (pretty sure it is the 4506) yetserday. It has been through the S&W performance shop and I'll tell ya it sure is a pleasurable gun to shoot all day. No problems to report yet. Hell of a lot better to shoot than the Colts. The size and waight of the gun keeps muzzle jump way down shooting 230 grain ball. More enjoyable than the 9mm. We don't own any .40's. have shot Glock and Sig .40's and they were an alright caliber to shoot, but we don't own any simply because we don't have all the brass we have for the other calibers to reload. I prefer shooting .38 special out of the revolver or the S&W M52. Don't have to load mags or walk around looking for the brass.

So what ya got , how much, and when can I come and look?

Only weapon I currently have "issues" with shooting is my Moisin Nagant.

Horrificly sharp recoil to it, not like the Garande, which in .30-06 is a joy to shoot.

You outta try a single shot .50 BMG. :err:

Thats what a muzzle brake is for.

.50 heavy bench rests are actually right on par with .338 lapua mag w/o a brake

much like .30-06.... heavy recoil... not very sharp though

You shoot heavy benchrest too?
