Canal is on, or will this NE turn it off again???
Hey fellas I just got hooked up with "free at last" service so I can keep my ears on. Just thought I'd let you know that the canal is real hot. I fished Monday morning on the last hour of the west and first couple of the east. THe fish were not on top ( a couple) but they sure as hell were deep. I got a 20 1/2# fish on a Spro 3oz bucktail ( beats the hell out of the Canal Special but nothing bigger than 3 oz) as well as a couple other meaty fish. I also had 3 dozen live herring and once the tide turned east and started to flood shortly after I used those up. I think I came pretty close to a fish on every one! Nothing huge on the herring but a couple in the low thirties. Like the #^^^^^^& says the smaller fish are better at chasing down the frisky herring than the real cows. BTW Bill, you are right about the herring, it's not just RI. I'm a green give me a break. SO, what do you guys think this nasty Nor easter will do to the fishing????

Not sure how it will affect the canal but generaly fishing is good to excellent just before the turn then it shuts down a bit... I also remember that when the storms came in up Maine and swichted NE, we would hammer the bass up in the rivers <img src="/Images/biggrin.gif"><!--e7-->.... Of course, not many people will fish in this snotty weather so it could be great for all we know....

Most of the fish at the east end are feeding on a large school or Squid and Mackerel. This storm (N/E) should not effect the canal. it should hold the fish in the area for at least a week or so.
