If it's got 2 belly holes with lead then yep it's one of mine, where the paint?

UserRemoved1 11-16-2003 05:53 PM

and the belly hook?

RIROCKHOUND 11-16-2003 05:53 PM

Yeah, two shots near the tail... Paint was gone when I got it... Was found that way.. judging by rust on the hook it had been in for a while....

UserRemoved1 11-16-2003 05:56 PM

probably from last year then if no paint and rusty hook. Too bad there wasn't a 50lber attached to that :D

rocketman 11-16-2003 05:57 PM

Hey Salty, you aren't using water color paints, are you?;)

RIROCKHOUND 11-16-2003 05:58 PM

Belly hook was gone as well, and the tail was snapped at the bend.. swivels were stretched out... Was fond snagged on a washed up lobster trap.... Wood has no dings or dents.. seems otherwise in good repair, even the thruwire is perfect....

UserRemoved1 11-16-2003 06:21 PM

I've switched to poster paints :p

I know WHO the owner of that plug was.....

RIROCKHOUND 11-16-2003 07:55 PM

Do tell.. was there a story behind it? Or just another plug lost to a snag?

UserRemoved1 11-16-2003 08:23 PM

:laughs:

Oct 24 2003,While fishing in front of the Andrea we were into 10 lb + blues one after the other.I was throwing my "gtf out there plug", a Salty Seagar (electric blue mackeral).I had just taken a photo of a big blue with said plug in his mouth.I tossed my plug out there, really puttin' my shoulder into it when there was a violent shake at the tip of my rod and I could tell the plug was gone.I've never had a palomar knot slip, maybe this is what happened? But plug, 3 ft long leader(floro) and crosslok were gone, and I was planning on retiring that plug cause she had lotsa battle scars on her and served me well on the Cape too.I dunno if that's the plug but what a coincidence.Last time I saw my plug it had the belly hook but the belly grommett had come free from the body and was being kept on by the swivel and hook, like I said I really used this plug.Anyway, that's my sad story of loss this season,I just stared out at the ocean in shock when it happened.... :( johnny "the Ratt Boy"

RIROCKHOUND 11-17-2003 08:53 PM

Ratt Boy, she found a good home... There is no gromet left and the belly swivel was a bit distorted as well, but was there when found (I cut it off before pic).... I betcha she has many more fish in her when I finish

JohnR 11-20-2003 08:53 PM

If you find one with the plastic hook protectors it was mine

RIROCKHOUND 11-20-2003 09:01 PM

Yeah I broke a rod that night.. I guess neither of us brought our A game that night, though I think I bagged a 20 that night, or the next I forget...

Diamond Tackle 11-20-2003 11:14 PM

too funny
Small world.
Im gonna start putting nametags on my nice plugs with a small reward attached. If one ever came back it would be worth it just to tell the story behind it.
