Any Reason Why
some of you guys use an acid brush to apply epoxy?
Any draw backs in using a foam brush to applying epoxy or envirotex? THANKS for your help. |
i never uses a faom brush:confused:
I just buy the acisd brushes cause 50 of them is cheep |
foam brushes are too soft and also absorb too much epoxy, wouldn't work well. Ya need a stiffer brush like an acid brush.
The only use for a foam brush would be to tip the epoxy at the end of coating the plug just to smooth it out, but usually the epoxy self levels. |
i bet foam brushes would make bubble city too.

try this little trick...cut half the brissels off tha acid brush,,no not lenght wise,, thicknees wise , an give it a shot,,o so nice;)

Thanks for all your helpful info. I have used the foam with good success with epoxy --but have had blisters with envirotex on the flat surfaces.
I'm going to try the brushes u guys use. :kewl: |
those blisters maybe caused by oils from your hands on the plug or on the brushes or mixing containers. before doing all my epoxying i wiped down everything including the plug with alchohol (i do a thin coat of polyuerethane before so it wont take off the paint) to remove that stuff. havent had a blister or blurp in a while.

Christian- Thanks for a great idea. I never would have thought of that.
You pushed me up a notch on the short end of my slow learning curve! :bounce: |
u guys probaly already know this but, Dont forget to WASH the brush in rubbing alcohol(isopryl) before using it. You would be surprised whats in that hair. This way you start with a clean brush.
