SK, I would say generally late April until early December.
There are some fish that are here through the winter in certain rivers and salt ponds.

This year, it seems that the fish disappeared too early, or another push is on its way.....time will tell!

Not counting the holdover fishing in th rivers , etc , the firrst stripers are caught on the outside in about the 3rd week of march Give or take a week and the last in December. If you count the holdovers , its a year round fishery.

It is my personal experience that when fishing for "keepers" in the Cape cod Canal, my earliest fish (30 inch striper) was on May 5. The last "good" fish I caught (34 inch bluefish) was on Nov. 4.

So I'd say beginning of May to first or second week of November (at the canal)

Mackerel and Pollack can still be caught until December
