Herring possession laws will change in Rhode Island for the worse. FRESHWATER LICENSE will be required. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be take days and 8" min and 5 fish per day.

FW license is required in FW take areas (you might want to have it anyway). There will be reduced bag limits in some areas that have been trashed cause of the airport. And there will be rezoned runs because too many greedy people were taking hundreds in a night....

Where do you find info on Herring regs anyways? I went to regulations on this site and Herring is not listed.

Herring is managed as a freshwater fish, even though it is anadromous. Check on the RI DEM site... The new regs might not be posted yet

I heard they are going to be on the bait fish list for fresh water rivers in MA next year???
