Outer Banks Question/Striper Road Trip
 

Can anyone tell me the best or a good week to plan for a road trip?
I have driven from here to the Outer Banks numerous times and know the area well but it was before being a surf fisherman.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Frank and Fran's in Avon on Hatteras Island has already reported some striper activity....in fact, they had some good ones on Avon Beach on Wednesday.....but it goes thru early Feb at least, and then picks up again in late March thru mid to late April, if it stops at all during the winter. Come April, they start heading north again.

Dad lives in Manteo Pirate's Cove, he tells me there is really no striper action as of yet, a few stragglers is all. Typically late December through early Feb are the peak times.
